The Tower of Babel - Progress as a result of speaking the same language. USA vs Africa!

We thank God for the grace to meet and study His word.

Today’s study was enlightening. We studied Genesis 11 in order to have a background of what was happening before Sarah’s time.

We saw that it was the period after the flood but the hearts of the generation came out from Noah were still not right with God.

We pointed out 2 things:

1. They had a bad motive for their innovative idea: building a tall city towards heaven so that they will not be scattered around the world whereas God’s will is for them to scatter and replenished the earth.

2. God confirmed that if you are a group and speak the same language nothing will be impossible for you. This is evident in the technological advancement in the USA and UK compared to the slow progress seen in Africa. Speaking the same language reflects unity and is very important to progress.

We also saw that “Us” in Genesis 11:7 means the trinity. I’m glad that we all know that. We can confirm that it's the trinity because God also said "Let Us make man..." in Genesis 1:26.

Also, Genesis 1:1-3 and John 1:1-15, showed us that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit was present in creation. We are in God's image, we have a spirit, a soul and a body.

I pray that God will keep explaining His word to us and that we notice the impact of sitting at His feet, in our careers, marriages, and life in general.
