Thanks for coming to the WPG meeting! God is our strength
This is what we studied today 19th of September, 2019:
Let the Holy Spirit have Full Access
Hannah, while she prayed looked like she was drunk with wine
Let’s read 1 Samuel 1: 12-15
Ephesians 5:18 - the effect of the Holy Spirit is a replacement for the effect of being drunk with wine.
This makes me understand that if one is drunk with the Spirit, it might look drunk with wine.
But the former leads to a positive and beneficial result
Now, since Hannah looked like she was drunk with wine although she was actually groaning with words that cannot be muttered. It makes me remember this scripture Romans 8:26 KJV
That was not the first time Hannah prayed for a child but when the Holy Spirit helped her to pray, He prayed in a way that God answered. When the Holy Spirit helps you to pray God will answer.
Now Romans 8:26 says we are weak for example, (CEV) we don’t know what to pray for. That’s just one way we are weak there are so many other ways and we really need the Holy Spirit.
Jesus asked us to ask for the Holy Spirit:
Luke 11:5-13 - Now you will tell me what you are seeing from this narrative. Who really needs the bread 🍞? (Me ) - who went to ask? (Holy Spirit ) who provided the bread (God).
Let’s read Luke 11: 10-13 (CEV) as bad as we are, we know how to give good gift to our children, how much more will the good God give the best gift which is the Holy Spirit to us. What do you think God is telling us to ask for? (The Holy Spirit) God is telling us to ask for the Holy Spirit.
So we might say that asking for a need that meets God’s need is like a checklist ✅ for answered prayers but tell me how do you know if it meets God’s needs? (Tell me, how do we know?) The Holy Spirit tells us.
Let us ask God for the Holy Spirit today and when we receive Him, let us be drunk with Him. In order to be drunk, people don’t take in wine that is 2% alcohol, they take in a high percentage. So let’s ask for 💯% of the Holy Spirit, let Him have full access to our lives to help us. Let’s not restrict him to work in one area but every area of our lives!
God bless us all!
