When God puts Christians on the Pedestal, They Fail Him Most of the Time

The Christian life can be likened to getting an education. You don’t get to the next level without taking a test. In christians' walk with God, these tests are usually one that measure our faith and test our love for God and His son Jesus. Some tests are private while others are public. This article will be a short one about public christian tests. I’ve discovered that most Christians begin their walk with God sincerely, with a genuine and true love for God. This love for God and constant fellowship with God gradually begins to beautify their lives in every aspect. Their careers, the positive impact they bring to the lives of others and even their facial appearance gets a glow. Just like Moses:

Exodus 34:29 When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

Some become famous for their services to God and others touch millions of lives through the power of God in their music and acting. In addition, whenever they come on social media, thousands of people listen to what they have to say. At this point, we can say that God has placed such a christian on a pedestal. That’s a great thing! God did this in hope that other people will see His light in this elevated christian.

However, that is not always the case. In fact, I only know a few people at that height who actually glorify God and it serves as a point of encouragement to me and I believe to other Christians as well.

I’m talking about the Newsboys, proclaiming Christ fearlessly in the movies God’s not Dead part 1 and 2. The Christian band, Casting Crowns in their new album "Only Jesus" also makes this list.

Moreover, there is always a temptation for christians to attribute the glory to themselves. The failure to give all glory to God in order for others to be drawn to Christ is a private test that comes right before the public test. The former test is revealed by the center stage light that comes on when the individual has failed the latter test. You will know that an individual gives credit to himself or herself and not God when he or she is publicly asked to confirm a truth about Jesus but totally fails to tell the truth for fear of offending others. You will begin to see that these christians refuse to mention the name Jesus and in fact they hate Him and His commandments.

The pedestal is meant for Christians to lift up Jesus living in them but sadly, they renounce Him immediately He places them on this platform. Lauren Daigle’s recent ignorance about what is sin or not, Hillsong’s NYC Minister’s refusal to state the truth clearly, Joel Osteen's diplomacy when talking about the true way to God are all public tests which each of these christians failed woefully.

This is a step in the direction of backsliding, because right after this failed test, if not followed by repentance, leads to compromise and drawing back from God into the world. As we’ve seen in the lives of Tonex, Ray Boltz to mention but a few. These make me wonder if they were with us in the first place.

1John 2:19

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

One easy way to know that you are not of God but of the world, lies in these verses:

John 15:18-19 (NIV)

18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.

19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

If the world loves you, examine yourself!

I pray that I stand for God when I’m placed on that elevated pedestal and that more and more people will lift Jesus up in their closets as well as on the main stage, in Jesus name. Only then will we witness the glory of the next level. Christ glorified and men being drawn unto Him.

John 12:32

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Stay blessed!
