Redefining Feminism

If I would define feminism, it would be a call for men and women to rise up and understand the real meaning of what being a woman is and what it is NOT.
Being a woman is not being second class or being relegated to the kitchen. A woman should not be subjugated by the man.
Being a wife at home is different from being a woman in society.
When a woman gets outside there, she has equal rights and should have equal opportunities as the man.
She should be able to take upon any subject, discipline or career path she desires. She can be an entrepreneur, a CEO, the president of a country or whoever she wants to be.
The only clause the Bible gives about this is the following:
God has designed the man and woman for different roles in the home.
A. For the Christian woman:
If you are a wife or mother or you plan to be one in the future whatever career path you take on should not prevent you from performing your God given duties. What are these God given duties? The list includes but not limited to the following:
A woman who is a wife or mother should be homely and see that she takes care of her husband and children during all four seasons Proverbs 31:21. She should watch over the affairs of her household Proverbs 31:27. For details about this, see the Bible verses in context by reading Proverbs 31:10-31. The passage is an allegory of how a wife and mother was able to balance her job, and her company with caring for her husband and children in all seasons.
A woman who is a wife should submit to her own husband Ephesians 5:22. There are many decisions that should be made in the home. Whenever the husband and wife have conflicting opinions, the Bible has given the upper hand to one of them because two people cannot take the driver's seat. This is practiced even in organizations. Everyone always has an opinion on how things should be done, the head, however makes a final decision after careful consideration of everyone’s opinion. This is to avoid chaos, 1Corithians 14:33 KJV. In the same way, in the home, the husband is to make the final decision putting his wife’s opinion into consideration in the process. The wife on the other hand is to submit, obey and follow this final decision. Please note that the Bible says submit only to your own husband and not to all men in the society. If you are a female boss, your male subordinates are to submit to your final decision because you are the head in that setting.
Finally a woman who is a wife or mother should join her husband in raising Godly offsprings which is one thing God seeks from the marriage union He instituted. Malachi 2:13-16
These roles cannot be played by a maid or personal assistant. Hence, whatever career path a wife or mother takes on, she should see to it that it does not prevent her from fulfilling these duties.
B. For the Christian man:
His roles are specified in Proverbs 31:1-9 and can be summarized in these sentences:
A man is to be a king, avoid wine, and be faithful to his wife by ignoring strange women. He should open his mouth to speak up for the oppressed and fight for the rights of the helpless. He is to judge fairly.
God specifically gave these duties because if left undone, the devil and evil will win the battle against the family unit, breaking it down and making evil apples of the offsprings that arise from these disintegrated family units. The major cause of family splits and divorce is the denial and refusal to play these roles by husbands and wives.
Feminism should be a fight against situations that take advantage of a wife’s submission to her husband, situations that make her subjugated by the society. This is wrong! Solidarity for the feminist movement should not be a license for the woman to dress, talk or behave like a man or an opportunity for a man to dress, talk or behave like a woman. God is not an author of confusion but of order. 1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV. Do not confuse these roles.
Although, these roles end up shaping the woman who is also a wife and mother into a different character and would affect her way of life and the career she takes up in the society, they should not discourage her from following her dreams. She can do all things through christ who strengthens her. Phillipians 4:13.
