Is God deliberately slowing down the end times because of YOU?

As 2019 is coming to an end, reflect on this question: Is God deliberately slowing down the end times because of YOU?

Main Texts: 2nd Samuel 14:14; 2nd Peter 3:3-10

A wise woman from Tekoa was speaking in 2nd Samuel 14:14. From her speech, we can tell that the woman knew the ways of God. We know this because what she said about God in 2nd Samuel 14:14 can be confirmed in 2nd Peter 3:9.

She made the following statement in 2nd Samuel 14:14:

“Like water spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered, so we must die. But that is not what God desires; rather, he devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from him".

The death spoken of here means death in hell because this is not what God desires. Yes, all men must die but perishing in hell after physical death is not pleasurable to God. Therefore, God seeks ways not to prevent man from dying the inevitable physical death but from perishing in hell. God devises ways so that we can come back to Him. We have been banished to hell right from when Adam committed the first sin and right from the time we were born into sin.

One of the ways God devised was sending His son Jesus Christ to become banished in our place. God killed His only son and sent Him to hell to suffer for the sins of all who will accept Him, all who will believe in Him. He sent Jesus to save us from perishing. 

John 3:16 says:

“ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.

If you believe in Jesus, you will not remain banished but you will have eternal life.

Another device God put in place is, slowing down the end times. God is purposely slowing down the time before the end and waiting for some of us to examine our ways. We can see this is 2nd Peter 3:1-10 where Peter was encouraging Christians who have been expecting the end times and the coming of Jesus in rapture. 

2 Peter 3:9 says:

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance”.

The end time is characterized by the coming of the lawless man a.k.a the antichrist. With all these technological advancements; globalization, the RFID chip, one currency strategy and other activities that would be carried out by the anti-christ, spoken of in the book of Revelation chapter 13 could easily be implemented in this century. However, God is waiting for you to recognize that there is a God, who sent His only son Jesus to bring you back to Himself. You who are a slave to sin, lies, impure acts and thoughts, you who have rejected His love, His help and His salvation. After this long wait and patience expires, then the end will come.

The end time is a period that can be distinguished by strong delusion as spoken of in 2nd Thessalonians 2:1-12. God will send a strong delusion upon the earth signifying that the wait is over. Anyone who didn’t believe in God before this time will be incapable of believing in God because God Himself will close the door of repentance, 2nd Thessalonians 2:11. Sometimes, with the rate of depravity out there, I wonder if God has already closed this door. However, if a sinner reads this current article and the Holy Spirit convicts him of sins (John 15:8), he feels God’s presence, repents and acknowledges God, then the door is still opened. You still have an opportunity to turn from your sins and come to God through His only begotten son, Jesus - the only way to God, John 14:6.  If you confess with your mouth as God said we should in Romans 10:9-10, by saying the following prayer and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, then you shall be saved.

If you wish to be saved, please say the following prayer:

“Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner. I have not obeyed Your commands. I have not lived my life up to the standards that You require.

I ask that You forgive me. I believe that Jesus is Lord, I believe He died for my sins and that You raised Him up on the third day (John chapter 20). I accept Jesus’ sacrifice for my sins. I accept Jesus as my Lord and personal savior. Today, I invite Jesus to cleanse my heart with His blood (1st John 1:7) and live in me. I invite the Holy Spirit to change my life and teach me how to live a life that pleases You (John 14:26). God please save my soul and help me to grow as You desire me to. When I leave this earth, may I be counted worthy to fellowship with You in heaven, in Jesus name I have prayed. Amen."

If you said this prayer, God has brought you back to Himself. He will release peace and joy (the joy of salvation) into your heart. In fact, the whole of heaven is currently rejoicing that you are a child of God (Luke 15:1-7). 

The next step is live like Christ (Christian). Ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to a bible believing church in order to fellowship with other believers. Now that you are saved, I advice you to read your bible every day so that you will be conscious to obey what is written in it, Joshua 1:8. Just as there is an instruction manual for every valuable appliance, the Bible is the manual on how to live on earth for humans only. In addition, you need to pray always. You can learn to pray by reading Matthew 6:5-15.

Finally, the end time is also characterized by deception, persecution of the Christians and wars as described in 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 and Matthew chapter 24. At the end of the times, Christians will be persecuted, their faith and love for God will be tested Matthew 24:9-22. Immediately after the persecution, Jesus will destroy the lawless man with the brightness of His coming and the Christians that endured till the end will be raptured to meet Jesus, 2nd Thessalonians 2:8 and Matthew 24:22-31.
